Meet Sophie

Hey, I'm Sophie! I'm a graduate social work intern who is dedicated to creating safe and affirming spaces where you can show up exactly as you are. I love working with teens, adults, and members of the LGBTQ+ community—especially trans and gender non-conforming folks.

I am in my final year of the Master of Social Work program at Eastern Michigan University. My background includes work at Pine Rest, an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Grand Rapids, as well as an internship at MiGen, where I worked with LGBTQ+ older adults.

Outside of the therapy room, I am an avid birdwatcher, reader, writer, and lover of all things outdoors. You'll often find me wandering through a forest with a camera in hand, or reading and writing under a wise old oak tree. I can't wait to meet you! 

My approach to therapy is all about authenticity and connection. I believe the therapeutic relationship can be a wonderful foundation for support, growth, and healing. People often describe me as a calm and grounding presence, and I strive to bring that energy into every session!
